Well, Hello There

If I could pinpoint a moment when I felt like I had hit rock bottom, I would say now. 15 minutes ago on October 16, 2018. When the pit in my stomach and the knot in my throat grew until I wasn’t sure if I’d ever be able to breathe easy again.

Maybe a bit dramatic, but accurate all the same.

And it was a similar situation years ago that had me hunched over cheap white bed sheets with an umbrella light as I photographed Hallmark ornaments in an attempt to make up the $800 my then-boyfriend-now-husband needed for rent.

I’m often asked how I manage to balance a full time job and still find the time to run my own business. The answer is necessity.

I would love to tell you that it gets easier. And it does. But it also gets harder. There are good days and there are bad days. And as empowering as it is to be your own boss and run your own business, it’s also isolating and lonely.

I wish I had a singular success story to share with you all, but this journey is filled with successes and failures. Right now? It all feels like failure. But that’s the beauty of hitting the bottom - you can only go up from here.
